What is Vacuum Oil Quenching Furnace?
Vacuum oil quenching furnace is core industrial vacuum heat treatment equipment, integrated with sealed vacuum heating system and negative-pressure oil quenching cooling system.Workpieces are heated and austenitized inside fully oxygen-free sealed vacuum chamber, then rapidly immersed in special quenching oil for fast low-temperature cooling to complete hardening treatment.The whole heat treatment process isolates air completely, fundamentally avoiding surface oxidation, decarburization and rust on workpieces. It has become the mainstream standardized heat treatment machine for high-end molds, precision mechanical parts and alloy steel.
Working Principle
1.Vacuum Pumping Stage: Seal the furnace door, the combination of mechanical pump and molecular pump extracts air inside chamber to form high vacuum negative pressure environment.
2.Vacuum Heating & Soaking: Under oxygen-free vacuum condition, graphite heating elements heat workpieces by thermal radiation. Temperature is precisely controlled to quenching setpoint and keep constant for full heat penetration.
3.Negative Pressure Oil Quenching & Cooling: After heating, quenching oil tank lifts rapidly, all workpieces are fully immersed in quenching oil. Under vacuum negative pressure, oil circulates quickly for heat exchange, workpieces cool evenly and rapidly to finish martensitic transformation for higher hardness and wear resistance.
4.Gas Filling & Unloading: After cooling, fill high-purity nitrogen into chamber to break vacuum, then open furnace door to take finished workpieces out.
Main Equipment Components
1.Vacuum Heating Chamber: Double-layer water cooling jacket structure, equipped with graphite heat shield and graphite heating elements, excellent thermal insulation & low heat loss.
2.Vacuum Pump Unit: Rotary vane mechanical pump + molecular pump vacuum system, high ultimate vacuum degree and stable pumping speed.
3.Quenching Oil Cooling System: Large-capacity oil tank, forced oil circulation stirring, external oil-water heat exchanger for stable temperature control.
4.Lifting Driving Mechanism: Hydraulic / electric lifting oil tank with smooth movement, full uniform cooling without dead zone.
5.Full-Automatic PLC Control System: Touch screen HMI, segmented temperature control, vacuum interlock, safety alarm and storage of multiple heat treatment programs.
6.Safety Protection System: Over-temperature protection, low vacuum alarm, explosion pressure relief, nitrogen anti-oxidation protection device.

A1: It works for all ferrous metal alloys: H13, Cr12MoV, SKD11, high speed steel M2/M35, stainless steel 440C, bearing steel GCr15, titanium alloy, structural steel 40Cr etc. Non-ferrous metal such as aluminum alloy cannot use oil quenching process.
