Important Process Notes

Avoid 600–700°C for stainless steel: Prolonged holding in this range may cause embrittlement phases, reducing corrosion resistance and toughness. Adjust process parameters accordingly.

Plan for dimensional change: Stress relief during tempering can cause slight part movement. For precision components, allow machining stock or use fixturing.
