A fast cooling powder metallurgy sintering furnace is a specialized industrial furnace that cools PM parts at a controlled, high rate immediately after the sintering cycle is completed.
Unlike traditional sintering furnaces that allow parts to cool slowly and naturally, this equipment integrates a rapid cooling system that achieves fast temperature reduction through:
1.Media Cooling: Recirculating process gas (nitrogen, argon, or hydrogen-nitrogen blends) is introduced into the furnace.
2.Heat Exchange: Hot gas carrying part heat passes through a water-cooled heat exchanger, transferring heat to the external cooling water system.
3.Forced Circulation: Cooled gas is blown back at high velocity onto the part surfaces, creating forced convection that efficiently removes heat.
The result: Parts exit the furnace having already completed their metallurgical transformation — fully hardened and ready for use, with no need to go through a separate heat treatment department.
