What is a mesh belt furnace?

Share:

A mesh belt furnace is a typical continuous automatic heat treatment furnace that uses high-temperature resistant alloy mesh belt as the material conveying carrier. Relying on stepless speed regulation motor drive, the mesh belt circulates and runs stably, continuously transporting workpieces through each temperature control zone of the furnace body to complete annealing, tempering, brazing, sintering and other heat treatment processes. With high automation, stable operation and wide process adaptability, mesh belt furnaces have become the most widely used continuous heat treatment equipment in small and medium-sized metal parts mass production.

The core component of a mesh belt furnace is the high-temperature resistant stainless steel or nickel-chromium alloy mesh belt. This special woven mesh structure features high temperature resistance, strong tensile strength, good air permeability and stable deformation resistance under long-term high-temperature operation. The mesh belt runs in a closed loop mode, with adjustable running speed, which can be precisely matched according to workpiece thickness, material characteristics and process requirements to control heating time and soaking duration. The breathable mesh structure ensures uniform hot gas circulation inside the furnace, making the temperature field more uniform than traditional solid conveyor structures.

The furnace body of a mesh belt furnace adopts multi-zone segmented temperature control design, including preheating zone, heating zone, soaking zone and cooling zone. Each zone is independently equipped with heating elements and PID temperature controllers, realizing precise temperature adjustment and maintaining ±3~±5°C temperature uniformity in the effective working area. Most industrial mesh belt furnaces support sealed atmosphere transformation, equipped with nitrogen-hydrogen mixed gas protection systems, which can realize oxidation-free bright heat treatment and effectively improve workpiece surface quality.

Mesh belt furnaces support multiple industrial heat treatment processes, covering almost all conventional mass production scenarios. It can complete bright annealing of stainless steel small parts, stress relief annealing of hardware fasteners, high-temperature sintering of powder metallurgy products, vacuum brazing of heat exchanger parts, low-temperature tempering of tool parts and oxidation-free drying of electronic components. One equipment can switch multiple processes through program adjustment, with extremely high equipment utilization rate.

Compared with other continuous furnaces, mesh belt furnaces have outstanding advantages of compact structure, convenient operation and low failure rate. The fully automatic feeding and discharging mode reduces manual intervention, and the stepless speed regulation adapts to different production capacities. The open mesh structure avoids workpiece stacking and local overheating, ensuring consistent heating effect of each part. In addition, the maintenance cost is low, and the mesh belt and heating elements can be replaced independently, which is convenient for daily equipment maintenance.

Mesh belt furnaces are widely used in hardware fastener manufacturing, stainless steel precision parts processing, powder metallurgy production, electronic component brazing, automotive small parts heat treatment and new energy material processing. It is the preferred continuous heat treatment equipment for medium and small-sized standardized parts mass production due to its high efficiency, stability and cost-effectiveness.
