What Is a Hardening Furnace? Types, Principle & Industrial Uses

A hardening furnace is a general-purpose industrial heat treatment equipment dedicated to metal hardening and strengthening processing, covering multiple hardening processes such as integral quenching hardening, surface hardening, carburizing hardening and induction hardening. Different from single-functional quenching furnaces, hardening furnaces have diversified processing functions, which can comprehensively improve the hardness, strength, wear resistance and fatigue resistance of metal workpieces. The core working principle of a hardening furnace is metal microstructure reconstruction and strengthening.
