Tempering furnaces run in high-temperature environment for a long time, with vulnerable heating elements, temperature sensors and insulation structures, requiring scientific daily maintenance and regular inspection. This article summarizes practical industrial maintenance tips to maximize tempering furnace service life and stabilize production efficiency.
1. Daily Operation Maintenance (Every Day)
Before starting the furnace every day, check the furnace door sealing strip, power circuit and gas pipeline (atmosphere model) to ensure no air leakage, circuit aging and pipeline blockage. Clean the furnace chamber surface of oxide scale, iron filings and dust accumulated from tempering processing, avoiding debris accumulation affecting hot gas circulation and temperature uniformity. Strictly follow the heating curve to heat up and cool down, prohibit sudden high-temperature start and sudden shutdown, and avoid thermal shock damage to heating elements and insulation layers.
During equipment operation, monitor the temperature control system data in real time. If there is abnormal temperature fluctuation or alarm, stop feeding and check faults immediately, do not operate with faults. After daily production, empty the furnace chamber, keep the furnace door properly closed to prevent moisture and dust from entering, and cut off the power supply for safe maintenance.
2. Weekly Regular Inspection (Every Week)
Inspect the working state of all heating zones and heating elements, check for oxidation, breakage and power attenuation, and replace damaged parts in time to avoid uneven furnace temperature. Calibrate the thermocouple installation position to ensure accurate temperature sensing and prevent temperature deviation caused by offset and aging. Clean the cooling system and ventilation equipment to ensure smooth heat dissipation and avoid overheating of electrical components.
For continuous mesh belt tempering furnaces, check the mesh belt tension and operating state weekly, adjust the speed balance, clean the residual debris on the mesh belt, and prevent mesh belt deviation and damage. Check the transmission motor and reducer lubrication state, replenish lubricating oil regularly to ensure stable operation.
3. Monthly Deep Maintenance (Every Month)
Perform comprehensive calibration of the temperature control system and temperature uniformity to ensure the furnace temperature error is within the standard ±3°C range. Check the furnace body insulation layer for aging, falling off and scorching, repair and replace damaged insulation materials to avoid heat loss and increased energy consumption. Detect the tightness of the whole furnace body, repair sealing gaps, and prevent cold air from entering affecting tempering quality.
Sort out electrical control components, clean dust on the control cabinet, check circuit wiring tightness, and prevent poor contact and short circuit faults. For atmosphere protective tempering furnaces, detect gas pipeline tightness and gas flow stability to ensure normal operation of the protection system.
4. Annual Overhaul Maintenance (Every Year)
Carry out full equipment disassembly inspection and overhaul every year, replace aging heating elements, thermocouples, sealing strips and other vulnerable parts. comprehensively repair the furnace body insulation structure, test the maximum temperature and temperature control accuracy of the equipment, and restore the original equipment performance. Check the mechanical transmission system of continuous furnaces, replace worn parts, and ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment.
5. Taboo Operation to Avoid Equipment Damage
Prohibit over-temperature and over-load operation for a long time; prohibit placing wet, oily and corrosive workpieces directly into the furnace; prohibit frequent opening of the furnace door during high-temperature operation; prohibit processing non-metallic corrosive materials in the tempering furnace. Standardized operation is the most effective way to reduce faults and extend service life.
