Share:As the global demand for high-performance stainless steel surges in high-value-added sectors such as new energy vehicles, semiconductor equipment, and medical devices, the stainless steel continuous bright annealing furnace, a core heat treatment equipment in the production process, is ushering in a new round of technological upgrading and market expansion, according to the latest industry monitoring data.
The stainless steel continuous bright annealing furnace plays an irreplaceable role in ensuring the surface quality and mechanical properties of stainless steel strips. By completing the recrystallization process in a protective atmosphere free of oxidation and decarburization, it enables stainless steel strips to obtain a smooth surface, uniform mechanical properties, and fine grain structure, laying a solid foundation for the production of thin-gauge, high-cleanliness stainless steel products.
Industry data shows that the market scale of China’s high-temperature stainless steel strip continuous bright annealing furnace production lines is expected to exceed 7.8 billion yuan in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of about 9.3% since 2020. East China, South China, and North China have become the most concentrated regions, accounting for more than 72% of the national total production capacity. In terms of technological innovation, domestic and foreign enterprises are continuously breaking through key technologies. Internationally, brands such as Germany’s ALD and Japan’s Hitachi Zosen still hold an advantage in high-end markets, especially in ultra-wide (≥1300mm), ultra-high temperature (≥1200℃) and highly automated furnace types. Domestically, enterprises including MCC CERI, Baoyin Special Steel Equipment, and Jiangsu Zhongheng have made significant progress in temperature control accuracy, furnace dew point control, and intelligent operation and maintenance, pushing the localization rate from less than 45% in 2018 to an estimated 62% in 2025.
Smart and low-carbon development has become the core trend of the industry. Many new annealing furnace production lines are equipped with industrial internet-based remote monitoring and fault early warning systems, as well as AI self-optimization algorithms for annealing processes, realizing real-time adjustment of process parameters. In terms of energy conservation, the integration efficiency of waste heat recovery systems has been increased to more than 75%, and the popularization of hydrogen-nitrogen mixed protective atmosphere systems has not only reduced costs but also lowered carbon emissions, in line with the global "dual carbon" strategy.
Industry insiders predict that in the next five years, the stainless steel continuous bright annealing furnace will further develop towards digital twin, predictive maintenance, and low-carbon operation. The proportion of annealing production lines for duplex stainless steel and nickel-based alloys is expected to rise from 12% currently to 20% by 2027, driven by the growing demand for special alloys. With the continuous increase of national policy support for intelligent manufacturing and the localization of core equipment, the industry is expected to enter a mature and stable period, forming a high-end equipment industrial chain with independent technology and strong international competitiveness.
