How to choose a stainless steel bright annealing furnace?

When selecting a stainless steel bright annealing furnace, it is essential to comprehensively consider the furnace type, temperature, protective atmosphere, and control system.

The following are key selection criteria:

1. Select the furnace type based on production requirements

Belt-type annealing furnace: Suitable for high-volume, continuous production, such as stainless steel tubes, steel strips, and hardware components. It features a high degree of automation and outstanding efficiency.
Batch-type annealing furnace: Suitable for large workpieces or intermittent production. It offers convenient loading and unloading, requires no foundation excavation, and is easy to install.
Vertical annealing furnace: Suitable for vertical suspension treatment of wire rods, coiled wire, and similar materials. It minimizes deformation and ensures uniform heat retention.
Chamber annealing furnace: Primarily used for annealing coiled materials. It features excellent sealing, energy efficiency, and prevents oxidation, making it suitable for products with high surface quality requirements.

2. Temperature and Material Compatibility

Generally, the bright annealing temperature for stainless steel ranges from 1050°C to 1150°C; it is essential to ensure the furnace body maintains stable high-temperature resistance.
For the furnace chamber, 309S or 310S stainless steel is recommended, as it can withstand temperatures up to 1150°C and offers strong oxidation resistance; if the budget is limited and the temperature is below 850°C, 304 grade may be selected.

3. Protective Atmosphere System (Core)

High-purity hydrogen or a hydrogen-nitrogen mixture (e.g., 75% H₂ + 25% N₂) must be used to prevent oxidation and maintain a bright surface finish.
A gas drying and purification system must be installed to strictly control moisture and oxygen content (dew point ≤ -40°C), thereby preventing color variations caused by even slight oxidation.
It is recommended to select equipment equipped with a micro-positive-pressure sealed gas barrier and an online oxygen content monitor to enable real-time early warning and ensure product quality.

4. Control System and Accuracy

An intelligent PID temperature control system should be adopted, with a control accuracy of ±1°C to ±5°C to ensure temperature uniformity.
Multi-zone independent temperature control (preheating, heating, homogenization, and cooling sections), combined with a variable-frequency speed-regulated conveyor system, enables precise process adjustment.
