Continuous Mesh Belt Salt Bath Furnace
The mesh belt salt bath furnace is typically combined with a mesh belt heating furnace, washing machine, etc., to form a mesh belt salt bath quenching heat treatment production line. It is a continuous heat treatment equipment used for austempering of small metal parts.
Equipment Overview
The mesh belt salt bath quenching furnace production line mainly consists of the following units:
|
Unit |
Function Description |
| Mesh Belt Heating Furnace | Heats workpieces to austenitizing temperature (typically 830-860℃) |
|
Salt Bath Tank |
Contains molten nitrate salt, workpieces fall into it for austempering |
|
Washing Machine |
Cleans residual salt from workpiece surface after quenching |
Working Process: After being heated in the furnace, workpieces directly fall into the salt bath tank below, undergo isothermal transformation in the constant-temperature salt bath, and are finally automatically extracted by an elevator.
Main Applications
Mainly used for bainite austempering and martensite stepped quenching of small basic parts. Typical application parts include:
1.Bearing rings, rolling elements
2.Fasteners (bolts, nuts)
3.Automotive and motorcycle parts
4.Springs, chains, saw blades
5.Hardware tools, drill bits
6.Elastic devices with complex shapes requiring minimal deformation
Process Advantages
|
No. |
Advantage Description |
| 1 | Obtaining lower bainite – significantly enhances strength, hardness, toughness, and wear resistance of steel |
|
2 |
Minimal deformation – uniform cooling in salt bath, low thermal stress |
|
3 |
No tempering required – can be used directly after austempering, eliminating the tempering process |
|
4 |
Bright surface – molten salt isolates air, preventing oxidation |
Salt Bath Structural Features
The mesh belt salt bath has the following key technical design features:
|
Feature |
Description |
| Double-layer structure | Air duct formed between inner liner and outer tank for salt bath cooling, maintaining constant temperature |
|
Stirrer + salt pump |
Ensures uniform temperature within the salt bath and consistent workpiece cooling performance |
|
Atmosphere isolation device |
Isolation at the heating furnace drop chute prevents "salt vapor" from entering the furnace and corroding heat-resistant steel components |
|
Automatic salt concentration monitoring |
Washing water tank equipped with salt concentration monitoring device, can be configured with salt-water separator |
Technical Parameters Reference
| Parameter | Typical Value |
| Heating furnace operating temperature | 800-900℃ |
| Salt bath operating temperature | 280-320℃ (austempering), max 550℃ |
| Salt bath time | Typically 30-60 minutes |
| Nitrate salt composition | 45% NaNO₂ + 55% KNO₃ (melting point 137℃, operating range 150-500℃) |
| Salt bath volume | 6000-10000L (depending on model) |
| Washing water temperature | 30-45℃ |
Safety Warning: The operating temperature of nitrate salt must never exceed 500℃, otherwise combustion or even explosion may occur.
