What Is Box Type Quenching Furnace?
Different from standard open-type box quenching furnaces, this atmosphere-controlled hardening furnace adopts fully sealed furnace cavity and automatic protective atmosphere distribution system. It fills the chamber with nitrogen-hydrogen mixed gas before heating, isolating air contact with workpieces all the time, to eliminate surface oxidation, decarburization and black scale after quenching.
It is specially designed for precision metal components with strict surface appearance requirements, avoiding post-processing polishing cost caused by oxide layers. The independent atmosphere circulation pipeline maintains stable gas concentration inside the furnace, suitable for medium batch precision hardware continuous heat treatment.
Working Principle
After loading workpieces, close the sealed lift door, exhaust air inside the furnace cavity first, then inject mixed nitrogen-hydrogen protective gas to fill the whole chamber. The heating system heats up to target quenching temperature under isolated air environment, then finish holding and quenching. The protective gas blocks chemical reaction between metal and oxygen, so parts retain bright finish without oxidation.
